Here at Koko HQ we get to work with so many amazing clients, but it's not every day you get to work with an NFL superstar. So when Martellus Bennett got in touch regarding a project inspired by and created for his little girl A.J. we were really excited.
Brief
Hey A.J It's Saturday! is the first book in the Hey A.J! series about a little girl who brings magic to the real world using her imagination. Bennett wanted an interactive adaptation of the story (about A.J who's kitchen comes to life on a Saturday morning). So Koko was tasked with creating an app replica of the book but with interactive features, bonuses and games, suitable for the youth market. We were to build on the existing content framework by producing a dynamic, gamified version that blended the fun of the story with educational facts and playable features.
Results
The fictional themes in Hey A.J. It's Saturday! opened us up to an unlimited world of possibilities that helped us translate the story through game play. The storybook app incorporates onto every page interactive and touch screen elements including word highlighting and read aloud functions for educational support. Users can learn facts and uncover hidden games, like Bizarre Breakfast and Waffle Ninja. The app is available on cross platforms IOS, Android and Amazon, not to be missed.
